    The World of Dungeon Universalis

    In DUN you will explore the world of Arasca, the hidden continent described below, and dive into the fantasy novel Raazbal (written by Óscar Bribián and published in 2010), whose cosmogony and nature bring together a multitude of races, creatures and civilizations, extrapolable to other universes of medieval fantasy and to some mythologies of the ancient and classical historical periods. You will find dozens of factions such as the Clans of the Great Orcs, the Creatures of the Night, the Devastators of the North, the Kingdom of the White Tree, the Empire of Pulse, the Sons of Jupiter, the Kingdom of the Followers of the Claw, the Kamaerin, the Forgotten Pharaohs, the Tribes of the Desert or the Kingdoms of the Renegade Dwarves. On the other hand, heroes can range from the typical human adventurers, dwarves, elves or halflings, with an enormous variety of classes and professions, to groups of creatures with a very different profile: orcs, trolls, ogres, goblins, fauns, etc. Why not play with an orc shaman, or a rat-man assassin... What about a goblin explorer? You can create your own characters or use predesigned ones. Be ready to accumulate riches and magical items as you gain experience and improve your skills. You will endure war wounds, suffer the hardships of long journeys, feel exhaustion defending against your enemy's blows and celebrate your good fortune after achieving the goal of a quest, if you don't die trying...

    The Game

    Dungeon Universalis (DUN) is a one to six player, dungeon exploration board game. A true homage to the classic dungeon crawlers. But it's much more than that, because it's really a system whose universal nature has been conceived as such right from the beginning. Its versatility, balance and number of options allow you to use components and narrative backgrounds from other games, be they adventures, maps, characters, miniatures, etc., You can use them with these rules easily and with scalable difficulty. In addition, it has different game modes. This way, you will find it has an incredible replayability.

    As a classic Dungeon Crawler board game, DUN can be play by 1 to 6 players (Age 12+). The game includes many game modes, including a lone wolf one. DUN's system merges its intuitive mechanics, card games and the almost unlimited possibilities and options of a RPG.

    DUN includes a huge narrative campaign and several independent quests. It also allows you to design your own quests or simply to use its rulebook, system and cards to replay missions and quests from other Dungeon Crawlers.

    The game adapts to any medieval fantastic background. However, it has its own background: the one used in the novel Raazbal, written by the author of the game and published in 2010.

    It is one game system that presents many different game modes:

    Standard mode with a Dark Player: The Dark Player is one more player who competes against the other players. In this mode some quests have an undefined length and finish when the quest's goal is achieved. Others have a settled number of turns assigned. Players may gain experience which improves their attributes and skills according to the cooperative achievements of the players' group.

    • Individual mode: players gain experience according to their individual achievements.
    • Cooperative mode (including lone-wolf player.): a 100% cooperative game, with an Artificial Dark Player.
    • RPG mode: the Dark Player is omniscient (just like a classical RPG master).
    • Open-map mode: scenarios without a gridded floor.
